제주인놀다

이 설치작품은 진짜 날기 위한 것이 아닙니다.

이 비행기를 만드는 동안 오랜기간 접어두었던 꿈을 다시 꺼내 만지작거리는 거 처럼 행복했습니다.

이 나이에 현실을 등에 지고 꿈을 손에 쥐고

어쩌면 이 시기 아니면 안될 거 같은 마음으로 몇 날 며칠 내 몸 하나 누이기조차 힘든 작은 스튜디오 공간서 나는 이 비행기를 만들었습니다.

철사로 구조물을 만들고 다시 종이를 입히고 수없은 저 하늘의 별처럼 구멍을 뚫습니다.

온통 다리에는 철사에 끍힌 흔적입니다. 너무 커져버린 비행기 사이에서 쭈구려 잠도 잡니다.

겨우 문틀을 빠져나와 전시장에 비행기를 앉힙니다. 활주로 끝에 비행기가 서 있듯이 전시장에 자리합니다.

전시장에 비해 커져 버린 비행기는 아쉽게도 날개도 몸도 꺽여 있습니다.

외롭지 말라고 바닥에는 내가 과거 모아둔 기내 잡지를 활주로 모양처럼 깝니다.

햇볕이 들고 뜨거워진 태양이 전시장을 반바퀴 돌아 해가 지고 밤하늘 별이 보이면 전시장 불은 꺼집니다. 비행기는 언젠가는 날 수 있겠지 생각하며 잠듭니다.

다시 아침이 되고 전시장 문을 엽니다,

잘잤어? 하고 비행기에 묻습니다

이 비행기는 나에게도 관객에게도 묻습니다.

아직 날고 싶은가요?

이제 진짜로 날아 볼까 합니다.

어릴 적 꿈이 사라졌다고 생각했을지 모르지만

그건 잠시 착륙해 있었던 것일지도 모릅니다.

이 작품이 나와 여러분의 꿈을 다시 활주로에 세우는 순간이 되기를 바랍니다.

This installation is not really for flying.

I was happy to take out my long-held dream and fiddle with it while making this plane.

At this age, with reality on your back, with dreams in your hands

I built this plane in a small studio space where it's hard for me to put my body down for days and days, feeling like it's not possible at this time of the year.

They make structures out of wire, repaper them, and drill holes like stars in the sky that can't be done.

The bridge is covered with wire marks. They sleep tight in the middle of planes that have gotten too big.

He barely gets out of the door frame and sits the plane in the exhibition hall. As the plane stands at the end of the runway, it sits in the exhibition hall.

Unfortunately, the plane, which has grown larger than the exhibition hall, has bent wings and bodies.

In order not to be lonely, I peel the in-flight magazines I collected in the past like a runway on the floor.

The sun and hot sun go around the exhibition hall half way around the hall, and when the sun goes down and the night sky stars are seen, the lights in the exhibition hall are turned off. Airplanes fall asleep thinking they can fly someday.

It's morning again and the exhibition hall opens,

I ask the plane, "Did you sleep well?"

This plane asks me and the audience.

Do you still want to fly?

Now I'm really going to fly.

You might have thought your childhood dream was gone

It may have been landing for a while.
